The Defense Lab provides wrestling and jiu-jitsu based self defense and combatives to armed and unarmed individuals.

By studying close to 2,000 attacks that have been caught on video, we are able to get a very realistic idea of how attacks happen. This allows us to teach technique and put students through scenarios that reflect how real world attacks happen.

Our curriculum and technique has been extracted from a life-time of Jiu Jitsu and Division 1 Wrestling experience that has then been modified to work extremely effectively in the self defense and combatives space.

We strive to do more with less. Much of our curriculum is congruent, requiring only slight modification for different scenarios - whether we are defending against an unarmed or armed attacker, whether or not we are armed ourselves, and whether we are standing or on the ground. This makes our curriculum easy to learn and execute in high-stress situations.

All technique and tactics are consistently vetted through live action scenarios and pressure testing.
